Integration Workflows with Partner Sites and Hospitals
This will give you an overview of the different integration workflows which are executed between Karkinos and the Partner Hospitals / Applications.
Integrations
Patient Registration
Patient registration is the bi-directional integration workflow. For a patient registered in Karkinos, complete demographics details are sent to the HIS for synchronising the data. Similarly, for a patient registered in the HIS systems, the complete demographics details are sent to Karkinos.
Service Request and Reports
Service requests requested in Karkinos application by the consulting or treating doctor are required to be sent to the Partner Hospital HIS whereas the Reports / Images prepared in HIS/PACS against the service request are to be sent back to Karkinos application.

Clinical Summary
Clinical summary integration is a bi-directional workflow. While a patient is referred between Karkinos and Partner Hospital the medical history about the patient is shared with each other. At the same time, the patient’s latest clinical notes are also synchronised between partner HIS and Karkinos application which include consultation notes, treatment notes, discharge summary etc.

Financial Report
Financial report integration is to get the Karkinos related billing details from HIS based on the request made from Karkinos application. Karkinos application will send a request to the concerned HIS for a particular date range to receive the data in CSV/JSON format.

Cross Consultation
Cross consultation is the bi-directional integration. Physicians on either system should be able to raise a referral for each other. The referral should be accompanied by a patient clinical summary document

Drug Prescription
Medicines prescriptions added in Karkinos application should be sent to the hospital’s pharmacy system via the HIS.

IP Admission request
Admissions requests are sent from Karkinos application along with clinical advices to partner HIS to get admitted under various departments. HIS should have the option to mark Karkinos inpatient visits and show the patient’s ward, bed and discharge details.
